Pikkstop — Plugs vs Plugs+ vs Full Node
Updated: Oct 13
Same house. Different room.
Parts 1–6 lived on the builders’ floor — probability fields, collapse, connectors. This chapter is for operators and partners who care about street hardware: EV power, hex hubs, micro-retail, the density of a real location. The through-line still holds in plain language. Uncertainty is default when you choose a path. Classical franchise pitches force a light-switch (“just buy the charger” / “just join the network”). We keep the options spinning long enough to match control vs capital — then you commit.
Density → opportunity. That sentence belongs on this floor.
Four paths, one decision
The Pikkstop Product Catalogue 2026 is decision-first. Four paths. One question: what do you need to own?
One dual-gun 120 kW unit you own → Pikkstop Plugs. Fast DC, dual CCS-2, same UI & OCPP stack, lighter footprint.
One dual-gun 240 kW unit you own → Pikkstop Plugs+. Full specs, dual CCS-2, 96% efficiency.
A complete multi-revenue location (EV + retail + edge) → Full Pikkstop Atomic Node. 6 bays · 3 fast chargers · micro-retail · AI edge · modular hex.
Access to a large public charging network → Tata EZ Charge. Service / partnership. National network scale — use the network, don’t own the asset.
Highway / depot super station or franchise motion → Charge Zone 240. High throughput, solar + BESS options, OCPI roaming.
This is not a mash of every Pikk lane into one pitch. It is a control ladder.
Own the charger vs own the location P&L
Plugs / Plugs+ — own the charger asset. Best when you already have a site and only need the power unit. Published specs. Standalone dual CCS-2 hardware.
Snapshot facts from the catalogue:
Plugs+: 240 kW ultra-fast; 8×30 kW modules; 96% conversion efficiency; IP54; OCPP 1.6J; 10" UI; RFID/QR/OTP/Plug & Play; ~360 kg; dual CCS-2.
Plugs: 120 kW fast; 4×30 kW modules; same platform DNA; ~260 kg; 5 m cable standard (7 m optional).
No extra revenue stack is implied by the hardware SKU alone. Charger-only means charger-only. Honesty is part of the brand.
Full Pikkstop — own the location P&L. Turnkey atomic node: EV charging + micro-retail + edge compute in a modular hex hub. Tapri / street-kiosk inspiration — a pit stop for cars, people, and data. Catalogue target framing: >70% utilisation across 6 bays as a design aim for multi-revenue nodes (treat as target language from the catalogue/blueprint, not a live ops certificate in this essay).
Network and franchise paths (context, not our SKU sheet)
Tata EZ Charge and Charge Zone appear in the catalogue as comparison paths — so a buyer can see control trade-offs against national network access and high-throughput franchise motions. They are not “Pikkstop Plugs with different stickers.” If your need is brand-scale network access without owning the asset, the network path may be rational. If your need is highway throughput economics under a franchise entry, say that out loud before you buy a hex.
Weaving simple ideas into epic wins starts with not lying to yourself about which game you are playing.
Before you decide (integrity)
Total installed cost always exceeds hardware list price. Civil, electrical, permissions, and software vary by site. Get vendor quotes, lock GST, define the human operations layer, verify warranties and OCPP/OCPI terms. The catalogue’s integrity note applies: this comparison surfaces control trade-offs; it is not a substitute for site engineering or commercial diligence.
What this chapter will not do: invent payback months, mash site-cost folklore and a full atomic node into one number, or drag software membranes from other rooms into a charger decision. Different room. Clean CTA.
Soft door
If you are serious about a path — hardware unit or full node — start an enquiry. Pikkstop enquiry · tobrand.biz@pikk.co.in · pikk.co.in. Bring site constraints and the control level you actually want. We will keep the coin spinning until the decision must land — then commit like operators.
Next chapter: another room again — liquid-cooled AI pod methodology for enterprise prospects. MV-to-chip, not street kiosk. Soft talk only.
